Human trafficking

The Senate Corrections and Criminal Law Committee heard HB 1199, sponsored by Sen. Head and Sen. Eckerty, on human trafficking. The bill requires a person convicted of promotion of human trafficking of a minor to register as a “sex offender” or “sex or violent offender.”
The Office of the Attorney General and Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council testified in support of the bill, which passed 6-0.
