The Senate Corrections and Criminal Law Committee heard SB 190 authored by Sen. M. Young on the value of property. The bill authorizes the prosecutor to charge multiple offenses as a single count and to aggregate the value of the property of the involved offenses when offenses with enhanced penalties due to the value of the property are involved.
A technical amendment was adopted by consent. The Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council testified in support of the bill. The bill passed 7-2.
