Legislative Update

Cannabidiol

February 17, 2017 Filed Under: Criminal

The House Courts and Criminal Code Committee reheard Rep. Friend’s HB 1148 on cannabidiol. The bill defines “cannabidiol”, and provides an affirmative defense to possession of cannabidiol if the person or the person’s child has been diagnosed with certain medical conditions, the cannabidiol contains no THC, and other specified conditions are met.
Rep. Friend offered an amendment authorizing the concentration of THC in cannabidiol to be no more than .3%. The amended bill passed 8-0.
