The Senate Judiciary Committee heard HB 1095 on plastic-coated ammunition sponsored by Sens. Bray and Tomes. Author Rep. Burton explained that the bill establishes a definition of armor-piercing ammunition and allows exceptions to the prohibition on possession, manufacture, sale and delivery of this ammunition.
The bill was amended by consent to clarify that the exception allowing possession by law enforcement must be in the course of law enforcement duties. Testimony in support of the bill was heard from the National Shooting Sports Foundation. The amended bill passed 8-0.
