Administration of overdose intervention drug

The Senate Civil Law Committee heard SB 13 on the administration of overdose intervention drugs authored by Sen. Glick. This bill provides that community correction officers and probation officers may administer an overdose intervention drug. It also requires community correction officers and probation officers to report the use of an overdose intervention drug to the emergency ambulance service responsible for reporting the use to the Indiana Emergency Medical Services Commission. The bill provides civil immunity to community correction officers and probation officers, or someone with an agency relationship to them, who administer an overdose intervention drug.
No testimony was heard on the bill. The bill passed 7-0.
