The Senate Homeland Security and Transportation Committee heard SB 98 on specialized driving privileges authored by Sen. Young. The bill requires a person’s specialized driving privileges to be terminated at the time the suspension expires because the underlying conviction, judgment, or finding is reversed, vacated, or dismissed; or the person is acquitted, found not liable, or found not to have committed the underlying offense that was the basis for the suspension. The bill requires the court to inform the Bureau of Motor Vehicles of the termination of suspension and the expiration of the specialized driving privileges in a format designated by the BMV.
The committee passed the bill 9-0.
