For amend and vote only, the House Ways and Means Committee heard HB 1057 on pretrial diversion authored by Rep. Steuerwald. The bill allows prosecutor diversion programs to charge a $75 initial fee for felony diversion cases, permit additional program fees that are reasonably related to the person’s rehabilitation and approved by the court, and require the monthly user fee not be collected beyond the maximum possible length of the sentence.
