The House Courts & Criminal Code Committee heard Rep. McNamara’s HB 1057 on Vanderburgh County magistrates. This bill allows the judge of the Vanderburgh Circuit Court to appoint an additional magistrate and allows the judges of the Vanderburgh Superior Court to jointly appoint an additional magistrate.
Vanderburgh Circuit Court Judge David Kiely and Vanderburgh Superior Court Judge Wayne Trockman testified in favor of the bill. The bill passed 11-0.
