For amend and vote only, the House Judiciary Committee heard Rep. Lehman’s HB 1181 requiring certain disclosures regarding asbestos trust claims in asbestos litigation.
At the January 14, 2019 House Judiciary Committee meeting, the author held the bill after much testimony for and against the bill’s burden on litigants. The bill was amended to address the issue of defense delaying trial, by requiring that defense council must identify the asbestos trusts that plaintiff is eligible. The amended bill passed 7-6.
