 SB 292 Notice and hearing on child relocation

  • Floor amendments: The bill was amended on 2nd reading to add that a relocating individual is required to file a notice of intent to move with the clerk if the relocation will require the child to transfer to a different school unless the relocating parent has sole legal custody of the child. The bill was also amended to add that a court may order the relocating and nonrelocating parents to participate in mediation or other alternative dispute resolution on its own motion or the request of any party.

HB 1520 Child support

  • Floor amendments: The bill was amended on 2nd reading to require the custodial parent to file a notice with the court if the 19-year-old will be in secondary school, with proof of the child’s enrollment and expected graduation date. The amendment also allows the court to issue an order, without a hearing, to continue support through the date of graduation if no one objects.
