S.E.A. 464, P.L. 155
Effective July 1, 2019
- Amends Ind. Code § 9-24-3-1 to permit certain representatives of a homeless youth to access, on behalf of the youth, the youth’s birth certificate, photo identification, and driver’s license without charge or consent of a parent, guardian, or custodian;
- Provides for fee waivers for these documents with the proper fee and consent waiver affidavit.
- Adds a new section, Ind. Code § 31-36-3-4, to define homeless youth and define what is needed in a fee and consent waiver affidavit for a homeless youth.
- Updates Indiana law regarding the education of homeless children and youth to align with federal law.
