The House Courts and Criminal Code Committee heard SB 209 on search warrants sponsored by Rep. McNamara. The bill provides that a warrant authorizing a search, testing, or other analysis of an item is deemed executed when the item is seized. It also provides that a warrant return is sufficient if the return contains a statement indicating that the item was seized by a law enforcement officer.
The Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Counsel testified in favor of the bill. The bill passed 9-0.
