The Senate Judiciary Committee heard SJ 3 on the United States Supreme Court by Sen. Buck. The resolution directs Congress to call a constitutional convention under Article 5 of the U.S. Constitution for the purpose of proposing an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to fix the membership of the United States Supreme Court at nine justices.
Concerns were expressed by committee members regarding the Article 5 convention. The resolution passed 7-4.
