Legislative Update

Newborn safety device

January 14, 2022 Filed Under: Civil

The Senate Committee on Family and Children Services heard SB 185 authored by Sen. Holdman on newborn safety devices. The bill removes fire departments that are staffed 24/7 from a requirement that applies to volunteer fire departments, which must have video monitoring on their baby boxes. The bill also makes conforming changes to the immunity provisions applicable to the places at which a newborn safety device may be located.

There was no testimony on the bill. The bill passed 9-0.
