On January 5, the Senate Judiciary Committee heard SB 67 on small estates authored by Sen. Lanane. The bill increases the value of estates that may be distributed via affidavit from $50,000 to $100,000. Increases the threshold for summary procedures for unsupervised estates from $50,000 to $100,000. The introduced version of this bill was prepared by the Probate Code Study Commission. The Indiana State Bar Association Probate Section testified in favor of the bill.
On January 12, the Committee passed the bill 10-1.
