Legislative Update

Notice requirements for local government meetings

January 28, 2022 Filed Under: Judicial Administration

The Senate Local Government Committee heard SB 237 concerning notice requirements for local government meetings authored by Sen. Boehnlein.  The bill requires an agency of a political subdivision to post meeting notices and agendas (if any), on the local agency’s official website in addition to the other methods required by law.  The bill also provides that when notice is required to be published two or more times, the first publication is in newspaper and subsequent notices are posted on the agency’s official website. The bill passed 7-0.
