The House Courts and Criminal Code Committee heard SB 10 on the Marion County violent crime reduction pilot program sponsored by Reps. Jeter, Speedy, and Gore. The bill establishes a pilot program and accompanying fund targeting Marion County police districts with violent crime rates exceeding Marion County’s crime rate.
Testimony was heard from the Indiana Public Defender Council, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police, and Indy Chamber. The bill passed 13-0.
