The Senate Appropriations Committee heard HB 1260, on Department of Local Government Finance, sponsored by Sens. Eric Bassler, Holdman, and Buchanan which, in part, amends the sunset provision of the pro bono legal services fee. Currently, Ind. Code § 33-37-5-31 sunsets July 1, 2022.
The bill was amended by consent to include a sunset provision for the pro bono legal services fee of July 1, 2025 instead of deleting the sunset completely. This new language matches the language in SB 241.The Indiana Bar Foundation testified in favor of the relevant provision. The bill passed 9-0.
