The Senate Judiciary Committee heard SB 314 on address confidentiality authored by Sen. Gaskill and Sen. Rogers. The bill replaces a “victim of domestic violence” with an individual who is an address confidentiality “program participant” in the definition of “covered person” for purposes of the statutes concerning restricted addresses. The bill was amended by consent to recommend sending the issue to an interim study committee.
Former Chief Justice Brent Dickson and his wife, Jan Dickson, testified in support of the bill. The Indiana Recorders Association also testified in support of the bill.
The amended bill passed 9-0.
