The House Judiciary Committee heard HB 1124 authored by Rep. Lehman on civil proceeding advance payment (CPAP) contracts. This bill requires anyone entering into a CPAP contract to provide that contract to other parties in a civil litigation and any insurer that has a duty to defend another party in the civil action.
The CPAP industry testified in opposition and the Insurance Industry of Indiana testified in support of the legislation. The bill passed 9-3.
