The House Courts and Criminal Code Committee heard HB 1648 on release from Department of Correction and parole authored by Rep. Morris, Rep. McNamara, and Rep. Baird. The bill requires the Department of Correction to evaluate the inmates confined to its custody to determine whether an inmate is eligible for medical reprieve or geriatric reprieve.
