The House Courts and Criminal Code Committee heard SB 36 concerning interference with boundary marker sponsored by Rep. King. The author, Sen. Doriot, explained that the bill creates a civil penalty for a person who knowingly or intentionally disturbs or removes a boundary marker, and permits a court to order a person who disturbs or removes a boundary marker to pay for the cost of reestablishing the boundary marker.
The Indiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors and the Indiana State Bar Association testified in support of the bill. The bill passed 12-0.
