The Senate Family and Children Services Committee heard HB 1051 authored by Rep. DeVon and sponsored by Sen. Donato on communication between caregivers and parents. The bill adds language providing supporting and facilitating two-way communication between parents and foster parents, or kinship caregivers is a state policy.
On February 12th, the Indiana Association of Resources and Child Advocacy and the Commission on Improving the Status of Children testified in support of the bill. On February 19th, the bill was called for amend and vote only. The bill passed 8-0.
