Consecutive terms of imprisonment for misdemeanors

The House Courts and Criminal Code Committee heard HB 1014 authored by Rep. Zimmerman and  Rep. Bascom on consecutive terms of imprisonment for misdemeanors. The bill limits the total of the consecutive terms of imprisonment to which a defendant is sentenced for misdemeanor convictions arising out of an episode of criminal conduct.

The Indiana Public Defender Council testified in support of the bill. The bill passed 11-0.
