The Senate Corrections and Criminal Law Committee heard HB 1121 on concurrent juvenile delinquency jurisdiction on military bases sponsored by Sen. Brown. Author Rep. McNamara introduced the bill which creates a process for the state to establish concurrent jurisdiction with the United States for certain juvenile proceedings on Indiana military property. The bill applies to only juvenile delinquency matters.
The Department of Defense testified in support of the bill. The bill passed 8-0.
