The Senate Family and Children Services Committee heard HB 1273 on child welfare task force sponsored by Sen. Rogers. Author Rep. DeVon introduced the bill and explained that the bill establishes the child welfare task force to study specified topics regarding child welfare services in Indiana.
The bill was amended by consent to make a technical correction to change a “the” to an “a.” Firefly Children & Family Alliance, Childplace Family Services, Villages of Indiana, Kids’ Voice of Indiana, Family Ark, Indiana Public Defender Council, and Indiana Association of Resources and Children Advocacy testified in support of the bill. The amended bill passed 6-0.
