The Senate Appropriations Committee heard HB 1403 regarding juvenile justice matters sponsored by Sen. Crider and authored by Rep. McNamara. Rep. McNamara presented the bill which would amend the requirements and provide for a funding formula for the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute to use in awarding grants from existing funding in consultation with the Youth Justice Oversight Committee and amend the sunset provision to July 1, 2027, instead of July 1, 2025.
The bill passed 11-2.
