January 23, 2026 Filed Under: Criminal

The House Committee on Courts and Criminal Code heard HB 1269 on unlawful proposition penalties authored by Rep. Bauer. The bill also requires a person ordered to complete a prostitution offender program to pay a $500 fee.

The Indiana Prosecuting Attorneys Council, Indiana Public Defender Council, Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault, and a survivor advocate testified in support of the bill. The bill passed 13-0.
