Commitment of Level 6 offenders to DOC

The House Courts & Criminal Code Committee heard HB 1078 on commitment of Level 6 offenders to DOC by Rep. Steuerwald. S.E.A. 239, P.L. 55 Effective: July 1, 2017 Provides that if the discharge or release date of an offender is changed during the 40-day notification period before an offender's planned discharge or release, the Department of Correction shall notify the victim as soon as possible, but not more than 48 hours after the change in the discharge or release date.
