The Senate Civil Law Committee heard HB 1245, sponsored by Sen. Koch, providing a requirement for notice of adoption to grandparents if the grandparent has an existing right to petition for visitation and the grandparent’s right to visitation will not be terminated after the adoption.
Rep. Karickhoff, author, noted that Court of Appeals Judge Margret Robb and Judge Freese with the Indiana Judges Association testified in favor of this bill in the House. The bill passed 7-0.
